Asthma
It is a chronic respiratory disease in which the bronchi are inflamed, making it difficult for air to pass through the airways. It often appears as an exaggerated response to different stimuli such as pollution or tobacco smoke. It can occur at any age, and its symptoms may vary over time and depending on the geographical area.
Cough, wheezing, a feeling of pressure or pain in the chest, fatigue, shortness of breath… these symptoms can cause difficulty sleeping and may vary in each patient.
The risk factors for asthma can include obesity, factors related to birth such as maternal smoking during pregnancy, environmental factors such as pollution, among others. In turn, the disease can be triggered by various stimuli, including the presence of animals or certain plants, smoking, stress, or physical exercise.
Through tests that primarily analyze lung function, although blood tests, chest X-rays, or allergy tests in order to confirm the suspicion.
Recognizing symptoms quickly, as well as understanding their causes, can help prevent and control asthma attacks. For example, wearing a mask in case of high pollution levels or irritants in the environment. It is also crucial to adhere to the treatment and follow the doctor’s recommendations properly.
