Introducing ourselves

Our aim is to try to optimize what already exists, identify possible improvements and translate these improvements into solutions.

Grete Berger, daughter of Josef Herbert Berger and his wife Valerie, was born in what is then Imperial Vienna at the turn of the century. Grete took her first steps among medicine bottles and test tubes. Josef Herbert Berger was director of the Vienna Serological Institute. For health reasons the family moved to South Tyrol where they opened a pharmacy in Meran. Valerie died at 26.

Grete Berger inherited her father’s vocation and studied pharmacy in Vienna, where she found love with the merchant Otto Broschek.

Grete Berger and Otto Broschek took the reins of the business and made it prosper. Destiny took them to the small Tyrolean town of Fieberbrunn where they founded in 1947, the “Gebro G. Broschek KG”, an acronym in honor of the first family pharmacist, Grete Broschek.

That small Alpine laboratory is now one of Austria’s leading pharmaceutical companies in the area of pain relief with subsidiaries in Switzerland, Hungary and Spain.

Mission, vision and values

Our vocation focuses our energies on improving the health and quality of life of our patients every day through our products.

Mission

A company’s purpose explains its existence, and our purpose lies at the heart of our existence. We possess a set of ideals that inject energy into work each morning and keep our feet firmly rooted in the present while our eyes are set on the future. We believe:

We will improve on a daily basis the health and quality of life of our patients through our products. We aim to cure them and assist them in living for many years with maximum well-being. And we aim to help health professionals, families and friends do the very same thing.

Vision

Our vision gives meaning to what we do. Its close relative is our mission, which grounds this ideal and tells us what we are and what we do:

We develop products and services that put our patients and our collaborators at an advantage, always adhering to standards of quality and respect for the environment and maintaining the corporate identity of the Gebro Pharma Group. Our vision is to contribute to the health system, so that the lives of patients and collaborators become easier and happier.

Gebro Geist” Values

We are as clear about where our horizon lies and the road ahead as we are about the values necessary to travel on this road. We are passionate about our Gebro Geist values (in German “Gebro spirit”) because they came out of a creative process including the entire staff of Gebro back in 2015, and because today they are still our DNA. There are six of them and they go together in pairs:

Effort and Commitment: the values emotionally link us with the challenge of giving the best of ourselves every day. Yes! Every day without becoming discouraged.

Kindness and Trust: the values that keep us reliable, honest and sincere with a surplus of smiles and good manners.

Innovation and Long Vision: the values that help us change and reinvent ourselves continuously, anticipating the wishes and dreams of our patients and collaborators.
